Thursday 21 April 2011: Damsel, No Distress

We've been working so hard in the front garden: trimming, weeding, feeding, clearing the paths, checking the drip line for leaks. Today we spread a delicious aromatic mulch of composted chicken manure and rice hulls; it's supposed to keep the weeds down: ha ha. Right now this very minute it looks very parklike and smells wonderfully earthy and dark, like chocolate. I've got to get back out there and just sit for awhile, admiring and inhaling. As for the damselflies, they splash up from the paths like grasshoppers wherever you step...
