Friday 22 April 2011: Marquee
Good Friday - and it is a lovely day with not many people or cars about.
There has been a very large marquee in the Ilam Grounds close to the University.
Yesterday it was used for 'capping' for all the graduates for the year from the University of Canterbury. They would normally be capped in the Town Hall, but as it has been damaged in the earthquake - these are temporary premises. The students then had a big party there last night.
Went for a wonderful walk this afternoon, and the mind and body have been refreshed.
