Wednesday 20 April 2011: Lent day 43 - My new train friend
My mate Dave always talks about his 'train friends' - people he seems to accumulate on his daily commute to Leeds who always strike up nerdy and boring conversations with him when he is least interested. Personally I think he encourages the attention by being one of the those lovely people who is naturally approachable and friendly.
I on the other hand do not pick up 'train friends' I sit quietly, usually with headphones in and try to ignore all other human specimens around me (I know antisocial of me isn't it)...... but not this week :-)
I had Bob my very own special 'train friend' with me who took every opportunity to shout out observations about 'signals' and 'points' at the top of his voice at 7am in a very quiet carriage (probably much to the annoyance of all other people on Coach 'D' of the Skipton - London Kings Cross Train)
It has been great fun having bob with me on my commute and I loved every minute of it - even if I did sometimes revert to the lure of Angry Birds on the iPhone to distract him from leaping on the other passengers.
