Thursday 21 April 2011: Catching Blossom

A quick back blip for yesterday.

Although we're only a third of the way into spring, the warm dry weather has us thinking of summer already. The blossom is still mainly aloft, but petals are beginning to fall and scatter.

This scene is from a small wild nature space on campus where a thick blanket of nettles is coming up. I like the way the new nettles are forming a canopy to catch and display the blossom.

I find it difficult with pictures like this to decide which element to have in focus, and I don't think I've got it right here, but it doesn't look too bad in 'small.'
