Drink bunting

A rather good day. After a morning devoted to work, when mid-afternoon came around it was time to head for town to meet up with one of the music group gang for a bit of wine tasting. For some reason, he considers me a bit of a wine buff and asked for help deciding what wines to select for an upcoming celebration lunch. The lunch venue is the restaurant at The Schoolhouse, and I'd narrowed things down to a shortlist of three whites and three reds. When we got there it was to find out that not all these were still on offer, so we had to taste quite a few extra alternatives. After a rather extended session, we got things to the point of deciding on a definite red and being left with two white possibilities.

I did some blipping around the nearby canal afterwards, and almost chose a canal shot for today's blip. But Carl decided on the spur of the moment to meet me in town when he finished work, and we ended up sending a pleasant evening in the Clarendon pub, having a bite to eat in Wagamama, and ending in O'Donoghue's in Suffolk Street. We got the last bus to Dún Laoghaire, since I wouldn't have made it over to one of my stops in time.

The blip? That's just an almost accidental shot of some bunting outside the Clarendon pub. This place was closed for a while, but it's good to see that it's re-opened recently. It was busy but not hectic, unlike most of the other places we passed in the city centre (no doubt people were conscious of not being able to buy booze tomorrow).
