Patina

This samovar belongs to my husband. It is an antique brought over from Russia by one of his grandparents. It has been sitting on top of our china closet for a long time. As a result it has developed quite a patina. The dents in the side that you see were contributed by the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989. We were living in Gilroy, CA at the time. We moved to Bellingham, WA in 1990. Believe it or not, we had already planned to move before the earthquake and that had nothing to do with our decision to come here. The samovar was bent over after the quake and a friend who repairs clocks here in Bellingham fixed it for us. Took some doing. Check out the large size to see some of the hallmarks.
