Worse Things Happen at Sea (cont.)

A morning of satisfactory progress on the boat (despite the foul weather) was all undone in a moment. I was looking forward to taking in the football, enjoying a beer or two with the crones and chilling out on a Saturday evening. Time to close up the boat and leap ashore.
Easy to forget that you've just put the boom on when it's been off the boat for a number of months. Easy to forget that the topping lift can actually lift it above head height to avoid mishaps.
Anyway, that was a fine piece of head splitting and the twelve staples are doing a good job so far. Just as well I bought a new cap in York - it will be seeing much use.
