Saturday 23 April 2011: Taking it Easy
After a day spent recovering from yesterday's trauma, we're having a quiet barbecue at home tonight, just us four. It's been scorching here today, so while the kids were out with friends, Paul and myself had lunch in Frankie & Benny's and an ice cream in the Castle Grounds, where the medieval St. George's Day performances were on.
Paul treated himself to a firepit today too - he's always been drawn to fire, for some strange reason (must be a man-thing!) and this replaces the chimenea that I smashed last year. It's nice and warm to sit outside now - I just hope the thunderstorms hold off for an hour or two...
This wasn't easy to take without setting my fringe alight, but I hope it sort of conveys a chilled out atmosphere - the opposite of yesterday's ambulance adventure!
* Thanks for all of the kind messages. It's so nice to find a site full of genuinely good people xxxxx
