Irish Sailor

After several comments on Friday's Blip - here is the finished article.......

Not too sweet, the Guinness helps with that.

We first had it in Leeds (around St Paddy's Day funnily enough) and tried to recreate it at home, good but not right, so I e-mailed Harvey Nichols and they very kindly forwarded to recipe.
And our error ??
Using bottled not cans of Guinness.

Here is part of the e-mail response & recipe;

It is a little twist on a Jamaican classic Guinness Rum Punch. The ingredients are:

1 and a half shots (37.5ml) Sailor Jerry spiced Rum

2 shots (50ml) Guinness (Canned Guinness not the bottled type)

1 shot (25ml) Condensed Milk

Half shot (12.5ml) Vanilla Syrup (We use a pre made syrup from Monin)

Simply put them all together, shake and pour over crushed ice. (You can use normal ice too or put ice in a tea towel and give it a good bash with a rolling pin!).

OR

Pop all the ingredients in a glass fill with ice and give a good frappe with a spoon.
