Emergency blip. The showers continued so no outdoor blips for me today.
This is a detail of one of my favourite things, a lamp shade I bought from a magical shop in Ubud, Bali.
The owner of the shop and designer of the lamps is an Italian Egyptian who has been living in Bali for many years. A fascinating and engaging man. I bought this in 2006 on a visit there. I recommend a visit to the shop if anyone is going to Ubud.
It is made of brass with glass inserts and covered in mirrored mosaics, sequins, beads and other pieces of fabric. I love it and the memories it evokes.
