In the years 1618 and 1619, during the synod of Dordrecht it was decided to publish a complete Dutch version of the Bible. Translated direct from the original languages Hebrew and Greek.
In 1637 this project was completed and within a short period of time this Bible (Statenbijbel) was of utmost importance in Holland. It's influance was, and still is, noticeable in Dutch society.
Seen a family chronicle, dated 1649, inserted into the Bible also published in 1649.
