Friday 29 April 2011: Pages of a Tree

"On pavements and the bark of trees I have found whole worlds."

- Mark Tobey

I've been asked by a couple of people what sort of tree features in yesterday's blip. I don't know, but decided to blip the rather odd trunk/bark for today's tree challenge.

It's really quite something to behold: the layers of bark appear to peel off, looking almost like leaves of a book. To touch, the smooth bark revealed is soft and rather cork-like - and very ready to flake off.
