Friday 29 April 2011: Burj Khalifah

Thursday and friday are the weekend days here and today we visited the Burj Khalifah, the tallest building in the world. With her height of 823 meters it is something special indeed. Visitors are not allowed to go to the top, but the 124th floor, where we were allowed, was high enough for some spectacular views. What you see below is a sort of unreal world, skyscrapers in the middle of the desert. Most cities I saw have a history and a beating heart and that is exactly what this city doesn't have. That's my opinion for now, I still have to visit the nightlife of the older part of this city, maybe I'll change my mind.
