Friday 29 April 2011: Luvuwu: The DIT School
Back to Luvuwu today, our first venture into School Building. Imagine a three classroom school built in two weeks, where a group of ten DIT students inspired a community and worked with them to achieve their dream.
A new school principal (not in school!!) and new teachers but the same spirited people.
They have 26 students in Standard 8 (end of primary school) and three teachers came in over Easter for extra work on a voluntary basis and even though we bought tilly lamps for them last year, the country has no parrafin, so no work after dark at 6 pm. Of course they have no school books - out of print for 2 years now. Maybe none of the 26 will make it to Secondary school.
