World peace declared unsafe - red stickered!

IN the Christchurch Botanic Gardens there is a Peace Bell donated by the Japanese community to signify World Peace.

Unfortunately it has now been red stickered, and therefore World Peace has been declared unsafe!

Another casualty of the earthquake, perhaps this explains why there is so much unrest in the world at the moment.

Someone has obviously taken their lives in their hands to add the colourful folded origami cranes to the bell. I remember reading the book Sadako and the Thousand Cranes to a class - it is a lesson to all of us.
