Saturday 30 April 2011: A Sail!
Well, it was supposed to be the Opening Regatta and parade of sail. Jeesus, it was blowy. Some older and wiser heads sat in their boats on the pontoon in the harbour having a beer or two. We decided to give it a go. At the harbour entrance the genoa furling line got snagged and we beat it back to sort it out and try again. Out we got again (above). That was enough. Point proved. We did it! Back for a BBQ and beers.
Oh, and the VHF aerial wasn't secured properly at the top of the mast so I've been lent a bosun's chair to get it fixed. All I need now is someone light and agile. And expendable.
