Sunday 1 May 2011: Drink?
Maybe only a sparrow to you, but it was our drinking partner today. Weather was not as good as we hoped, so any ideas of walking somewhere soon diminished.
In the end we went down to 'Elpidas' traditional café neon in the harbour for some wine and a toastie. Elpida gave us some of her homemade quiche for May Day, and the sparrows there are very tame. This one sitting perched in the opposite chair. On the way home Josie picked some flowers to hang on our front door (A traditional thing to do here on the 1st of May).
So, though the weather was not great, we have 'Pukka' Pies, mushy peas and chips for dinner tonight. Yes, you did read that last bit correctly. And yes, I'm still on Symi Island in Greece
