Sunday 1 May 2011: Bowdown bluebells
We had a trip to a local nature reserve (Bowdown Woods) this afternoon.. We finally found it (hidden away behind lots of private drives). It was lovely - not too many other visitors and lots of bluebell vistas through the trees. We heard several cuckoos as we wandered around. Bluebells are nearly finished and the bracken is ready to take over. Saw a couple of damselflies but it was too windy to try and photograph them. Nice to see them about though - means summer is on its way.
