Saturday 30 April 2011: PS Waverley in Oban
The last Saturday of the Campaign.
After a car cavalcade that had taken us from Dunoon to Oban, we stayed in the town overnight in order to sail to Coll on Sunday for a campaign visit. After dinner at the excellent eeusk, Donald & Dot Macdonald took us up Pulpit Hill, just above where they live. As we crested the final rise, there was the worlds' last sea-going paddle steamer, PS Waverley , coming into Oban Bay. It was a fantastic sight, with the sun setting behind Mull and the mountains to the north and west fading into the twilight.
