Kinda Horrigans

Sunday 1 May 2011: Do you believe?

429/365: ... because I think Maddy does. In fact, her world of sparkles and day dreams is more real than the real version of living most of the time.

And I kinda hope it stays that way too.

Very late blip today... late back from London where we'd been to see family. And I'm pooped having spent nearly five hours in the car followed by a full day of visiting, chatting, kids playing and family stuff.

We ended up going to a local park for a walk / bike ride in the afternoon. The three kids - our two and their cousin - were great to watch as they zoomed off on their bikes. This definitely is a nice bit of their childhoods. Plus, we had a chaotic game of rounders / baseball (it involved a bat, a ball, running around, but no other discernable rules!) halfway through which is the kind of thing you get to day when your children are this age. And you get to act the same age as them. Yay! I *knew* there was a reason having kids was a great idea. :o)

The one major downside to the kids getting older is that they no longer automatically fall asleep in the car on long journeys and instead start the 'are we nearly there yet' drone from the boundary of Nottingham and all the way down the M1. They watched Nemo on the portable DVD on the way down - which neither of them liked. Plus, if you can't see the film then it's just noisy and no fun for the grown-ups in the front too! On the way home, they OD-ed on Mr Benn. Which they both love. But I'm going to have the theme tune in my head. Forever.

*twitch*

PS Managed to blip just before midnight
PPS Go me!
PPPS Forgot to say - the ball in this shot is what Maddy bought with her Tooth Fairy money the other day. Who knew it would make a good blip prop? Thank you Tooth Fairy. I now believe in you. :o)
