REJECTED ASYLUM SEEKERS THAT CANT BE RETURNED

They come from Gaza and the West Bank. They are rejected asylum seekers, but the authorities cannot send them home because Palestinian areas are deemed unsafe.

I met them outside the Parliament where they demonstrate every day demanding that they either be sent home or that they asylum cases be accepted.

Meanwhile they receive less than NOK 2000 from the Norwegian government and they are not allowed to work.

Some of them have families back home and are eager to go back to Gaza or to the Palestinian camps they came from. Others have spent all their money and have run huge loans to get to Norway.

They have been in Oslo the two last years, and were eager to know about my experience in Palestine last October.
