Monday 2 May 2011: Gathering the fragments

Last night marked the beginning of Holocaust Memorial day (Jewish holidays start in the evening). That evening all places of entertainment were closed. Today a 2 minutes siren was sounded and during that time everything stopped. On tv most if not all the shows were about the holocaust.

Gathering the fragments is an initiative by Yad Vashem (The national holocaust museum) to gather from aging survivors as many artifacts as possible before they ? and their stories ? are gone forever.
