Saturday 30 April 2011: Stalwart
Took pic of one of a dozen activists out doing streetwork (balloons, flags, leaflets, for voters).
This one is special. He works harder than anyone else. He delivers leaflets like the Postman he once was. In a typical campaign he will deliver three times as many leaflets, newspapers and surveys as the next most productive member of the team. He's been doing the same for over two decades.
He earned his respect before I was old enough to spell election. Helps to remind me that leadership is not the same as hierarchy in an election campaign. If it were, he'd be the campaign manager rather than me.
He's Neil. He's the daddy.
