Tuesday 3 May 2011: Snap the Hand that Kneads

"We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey."

- Kenji Miyazawa

This is the hand of a nurse who has recently rejoined our team. His hands were welcomed back almost as much as he himself, and his clinical skill - because if there is a knot in a muscle, he will find it and cast it out. - And given that my back, shoulders, and neck are basically one big mass of knots, there's a lot of casting out to do. ;-)

He was very obliging, and cast out a few this afternoon. It is incredibly painful at times, but in that way that feels it's useful, and part of improvement. He also let me take a picture of one of the magic hands that had just been kneading the hell out of me.
