Steph's window on life...

Ulster American Folk Park.

My friend Kirsty and I took a trip up to Omagh today, to go to the Ulster American Folk Park and Centre of Migration... Of course the trip was purely for research... Well, that's the official line anyways. ;)

I love how when you get there, you start off in Ireland, and work your way to America, getting onto the ship and everything, to make your experience more authentic. Once you step off the ship, you walk into the "New World", into a typical American Street from the period. You then move out of the street, and into the more rural country... Here's one of the little houses - The Western Pennsylvania Log House. Some of the houses are replicas, while others have been taken down, transported and rebuilt, brick by brick on the site. The park is really interesting, with lots of people in costume, who can tell you all about the history, but as well as being interesting, it's also a lot of fun for all ages, a great day out. :)

Steph.
