Cotton Grass in the breeze

I don't know what this plant is called properly but my mother-in law always called it cotton grass and was delighted to find the large sways of it near our cottage. She was my main inspiration to start gardening so I have always referred to it as cotton grass. It tends to grow best in peaty soil. As you can see I got down low for this picture and the main problem was the wind!
