Saturday 7 May 2011: Chance Meeting

This is the title of a pair of sculptures on Liverpool Lime Street station. Here we are looking over Ken Dodd's shoulder at Bessie Braddock.

Liverpool has changed so much since I first visited it in the early 1990s. However, the gloomy taxi driver who took me to the station this morning said there was still no work and predicts riots within a year because of the cuts and things like the imposition of £9k tuition fees for students.

Edit: just realised predictive texting had given me pedicures instead of predicts. Thanks, Red.
