Ragged Robin

Up by the pond there are several clumps of ragged robin, now thought to be generally in decline due to draining wetlands for farming. It's pretty and the butterflies love it.

The root contains a soap-like substance, it was used for washing clothes and hair in the old days.

And as always, there is a flower essence made from it which is said to bring the spiritual life more into focus in every day. Certainly this is an ordinary raggedy little plant which brings out the marvellous every time I see it. Uplifting.
