An owl on the Grand Place!

It was the Iris Festival today. The Brussels region celebrates its birthday every year with this Festival. There are a large number of activities, such as street parties, concerts, dj's and a huge picnic. Last year the weather was grey, but today the weather was gorgeous again! The big celebrations ended at 20h00 and we went to the Grand Place for an icecream afterwards.

When we were eating our icecreams, a guy with an owl came by. He was together with a guy with a huge fluffy dog. A little girl was attracted by the dog, so she stopped them and asked if she could pet him. We were much more interested in the owl, so we asked if we could pet the owl! :)

Soon after that a huge crowd gathered round, but we got the first shots! This is my boyfriend posing with the owl. How strange is it to find a guy with an owl in the middle of Brussels?



A few people asked me why the tree trunks in my blip of yesterday are painted white. The white paint is supposed to prevent bacteria and vermin from damaging the trunk.
