Monday 9 May 2011: The Sir Walter Scott Memorial

From Platform 14, Waverley Station, Edinburgh

Fired through to Edinburgh in the evening, wandered up to the Malt Shovel where my faithful retainer Instography already had my pint on the table. We were back at the Stills Gallery for a lecture on the work of Taryn Simon. On the whole I quite enjoyed it, though again some of the conclusions and assertions of the lecturer seemed a bit awry from mine, guess that's art for you. Insto on the other hand was a bit dissaponted on account of doing his homework on Ms. Simon and finding the lecturer had taken a good deal of his lecture from the same place. Link is here. Not watched it yet but I am assured it's worth a wee look. That's two weeks we've had the comfy couch so I am now assuming ownership, it's like our own wee Statler and Waldorf box.
We retired to the Malt Shovel before getting trains. Suddenly looking up and seeing this has saved you a shot of Instography drinking beer..... again.

The Scott Memorial is big.
