Wednesday 11 May 2011: White cistus

Each of these flowers lasts only a day before its white petals fall to the ground and next day new buds open in a process of renewal which carries on for several weeks at this time of year, here in our garden and also in the wild garrigue on the hills around the village.

This is for Molly, Amalarian, whose Tuscan photos and commentaries, as well as her humour and daily comments, I shall miss terribly - a very sad loss to Blip and, of course, to her family.
