Saturday 8 March 2008: SCOT-LAAAAND!!!!
I didn't have high expectations. Nor did the news photographers, gathered like vultures on the Scotland 10 and try line, waiting for England to break through. It didn't happen though, and Murrayfield had a just amazing atmosphere all afternoon. Just amazing. Honestly, the best place in the world for a scot. It's just as well songs don't wear out or you would never hear Flower of Scotland again. Or that other unsavoury ditty recommending a rectal infusion of chariots to our opponents, but that might not be a bad thing...
Afterwards, hoarse, cold and wet but jubilant.
Celebratory beer and whisky required. Didn't get to bed until after 4am....
