Saturday 14 May 2011: Sweep the sky
Actually the old-fashioned 'sign' for a chimney sweep, using one of the tools of the trade. Snapped in Dalry, Edinburgh on the way to D's party, which was another late one, hence the back blip this afternoon.
A good couple of days for me, with the letter through the door on Friday saying I was on the shortlist for the Herald Scottish Student Press Awards Photographer of the Year. There are four of us on the shortlist, all from Stevenson College, although the other three are all in the HND2 class. And then yesterday there was an email from the BIPP (Scotland) to say that two of my images had made the shortlist in the student photojournalism category. One was on blip a while back. Looks like that prizegiving will also be dominated by students from Stevenson, going by the messages that have been pinging around FB over the past 24 hours! Of course being shortlisted is a long way from winning, but still, good to be in the mix.
