black suit

a good friend of the family died last week - he may have been 92 but it was still a shock as he'd been in decent health. very sad. funeral today, and i'm so glad to have lost weight recently so i could get into this black suit as tho my wardrobe is mostly black it's not really funeral-appropriate.

nice enough service, tho not quite what it could've been, but drinks and sandwiches and cake after gave chance for a good send-off. it seems strange to say you like a good wake, but i do - it's a chance to talk about the person in positive terms; the good things you remember, swapping stories and so on. it's a terribly american term, but there's a sense of closure afterwards.

RIP, EP - one of life's Nice Blokes
