Return to the North

Our school headed the 300m or so up the road and round the corner to the Sports & Rec centre this afternoon. Another Area School was bringing their concert band down to give a performance. They were awesome! They are a school from the far north of the North Island. They had flown down to Christchurch to perform and are now touring round the Area Schools in the South Island.
We are very fortunate to have these opportunities to see true musicians at their best. In small schools like ours it is hard to provide opportunities for music lessons and I lament quite often on this lack. Music is such a joy to behold. Today we were treated to Jazz, Ragtime, Rock and a bit of Holst's 'The Planets'. Well done Tauraroa Area School.

This view (in case you were wondering!) is the view from the Rec Centre , looking up the Matakitaki Valley - snow on the hills but are first glorious day (all day) for about 3 weeks+
