Friday 20 May 2011: Imagine...
In the nick of time Miss C's costume arrived just before we had to leave for school. She has a school trip to Celtic Harmony in Hertford today and they should dress in Celtic/Viking style outfits. I ordered one from ebay (because I am a slummy mummy!) about a week ago, and despite hassling the seller there has been no sign. Anyway, today bingo there it is on my doormat, and boy am I relieved. Her backup plan was from Lorraine, it was Owen's shepherd outfit from Christmas, basically a rug with some holes cut in it! So needless to say Miss C was relieved!
Yesterday my mum had told me about a piece of temporary art that was housed outside the University Library in Cambridge. As I was going into Cambridge anyway I decided to pay a visit to it. I went along with Ruth and Barb (aka Scotchlass). The details can be seen here, we met and chatted to the artist and decided that collectively we had zero imagination, so we quoted the muppets 'I'm taking a stroll down memory lane without a single thing on my mind'. Quite apt really as we really couldn't think of anything inspiring to write and a quote by the muppets at least has some bizarre retro street cred!
Anyway, we had a couple of hours in Cambridge, and had a lovely baked potato from the man on the market. I feel a bit rubbish today, I keep sneezing and I have a bit of a sore throat, that's the penalty of working with various children over the past week!
