Saturday 21 May 2011: Evil Weevil
Ah, the joys of photographing garden pests! Early this morning I was so taken by the little dewdrops on the tender rose leaf that I didn't notice the insects til I looked through the lens: Rose Curculios (Merhynchites bicolor), with their nasty little snouts that drill holes in the blossom stems.
