Futuro UFO house 02

Futuro was designed by the Finnish architect Matti Suuronen in 1968. Suuronen designed the Futuro when he was commissioned to create a modern ski cabin. It was built out of fiberglass-reinforced polyester plastic and was light enough to be lifted to remote sites by helicopter, where the steel legs could adjust to any terrain.

Only 96 were ever made, of which one is here in Norway. It is placed in the woods in Nevlunghavn, 5 minutes walk from our summer house. I have never seen any inhabitants in silver space suits there. The 'green men' in the lower right corner is our friends Kari and Even.
