EC20 part of the boiler in HDR
Had to follow a course about production process today.....
Already do this for 31 years... -:) mwah.
Around noon I took the time to shoot this one (set of three) at the backside of the boiler of unit EC 20.
Looking up from the level where the former hydraulic installation of the HP bypass is located.
You're looking at the middle so-called "Benson bottle".
Formerly there were three of them, after the unit was converted into a so-called "combi-unit", three was not enough, so two more bottles were installed.
Their task is to separate the water and steam before the steam goes to the first superheater, and to have some waterbuffer in the boiler. The Benson boiler doesn't have much water capacity and so the Benson bottles have the task to decrease large deviations in waterlevel at various loads.
