Thursday 26 May 2011: Vole

A vole is a rodent that's small.
This one lives in our old garden wall.
I serve some of his needs,
Spreading sunflowers seeds,
So that he, and the birds, have a ball.

The vole differs from our other regular visitor, the mouse. He is smaller and squatter, with darker brown fur, flatter ears and a short, straight tail. He is also even quicker, but this, again, I took through the kitchen window.

Got the rain we were expecting last night, and more on and off today, though the wind has dried a lot of it up already. The garden still needs more, but it's a start.

BTW, I added a limerick to my walrus painting today. Couldn't help it once the words had come into my head!
