Friday 27 May 2011: Celebrating a peace maker

I was at a lunch in Edinburgh today in honour of former Irish Taoiseach Albert Reynolds who was visiting Edinburgh. The lunch also raised funds for Combat Stress, a charity that deserves continuing support.

Reynolds should be celebrated for his courage in leading the Irish peace process by means of his role in the historic Downing St Declaration a fact emphasised in a substantial , profound but witty speech at the event from the First Minister.
