Sunday 29 May 2011: Growing
Not great composition but I liked the rising New York-esque feel to it.
This is taken from the back of Abu Dhabi's main maternity hospital. I was trying to register there today, but of course forgot one crucial piece of paper. It's a public hospital and very few expats seem to go there, so I'm always outnumbered by fully veiled women by about 100 to 1. On one visit for my last pregnancy, I sat next to a woman who worked for the censorship department at the state broadcaster and as we waited, she went through a long list of colloquial English words to find out how best to translate them. I was very truthful.
