Sunday 29 May 2011: bird hunter

I was sitting in my caravan watching some house martins flying around and decided they were going to be my blip.
problem is they fly to quick, so as i watched them i noticed a pattern in there behaviour. they kept returning to this old wooden garage on the site..
so i stuck on my stealth hat and before you could wisper BILL ODDIE i had tracked down this nest of chicks.(with the help of malcolm who happened to now exatly where the nest was).
the nest is pretty high up and with the camera well over my head and forced flash on i snapped away until i got a view able pic.

the winds are starting to pick up here again and im hopeing we dont have a repeat of the weather we had at the begining of the week.

hope this sunday is treating you all well.

edit: a wee update to allay any concerns on the chicks welfare..due to the nest being in a garage which is used frequently the birds are used to humans going in and out and the parents of these chicks are still tending them and feeding them.
