Monday 30 May 2011: If Juhani was here....

..he would tell you himself. And if you need that sentence explained, use the link, because the story of Cal Mac's new Islay ferry the "MV Finlaggan " has a touch of the Para Handy about it today. Just delivered from Poland, with engines by Wartsila in Finland she has not been able to enter full service as yet because of an unexplained failure in an engine component, so - apparently - someone is on their way from the manufacturers with a new bit (hence "Juhani", apparently the most popular boys name in that country)!

Meanwhile she is sitting on the North Pier in Oban, blocking the wonderful view from ee-usk a very good seafood restaurant. You can check the eeusk webcam to see if she is still there, but she was this afternoon !

Of course it will be great when she is fully on the Kennacraig / Islay route. I am next on the run a week on Friday, so I hope Juhani hurries up.
