Sunday 29 May 2011: Friendship

A friend of mine that I have not seen in almost 25 years was in the Portland area for the weekend. Hubby and I drove to meet her and take her to lunch.

I had lost touch with my friend over the years. A divorce and remarriage had changed my name and a marriage changed her name. So when my friend was trying to find me she had asked her daughter to find me on Facebook. Well that worked and we were once again in touch after all these years. I had too tried looking for her over the years with no luck. That is one thing I really love about Facebook as it has connected me with old friends and relatives I rarely get to see.

It was so good to see my friend face to face. We had a nice time chatting and getting caught up. Thanks B for being such a great friend!

After returning to the Columbia Gorge I decided to photograph Shepard's Dell and Multnomah Falls. Though I photographed Multnomah Falls every day that we have camped here, this was the first day that there were no people on the bridge! I was not able to get the complete fall from top to bottom with my 18mm lens from where I stood. This is when I would love to have a wider angle lens!
