Friday 27 May 2011: You can keep your hat on . . .

Fortified by a delicious breakfast at Kinloch, we launched Carpe Diem from the slip at Shieldaig and headed for the Ardheslaig peninsula. We decided to dive a group of rocks called Dubh Sgeir. B & I had dived here before on a previous visit, & had been told there was a wee wreck there. We hadn't found the wreck on that occasion but had a good dive.

B & S went in first while Cyclops & I braved the weather - it was wet, very wet! B & S stumbled on the wreck and marked it with a surface marker buoy, so when Cyclops & I went in we dropped down straight onto it. The visibility was better under the water and we had a fabulous dive guddling around the wreck and rocks. Cyclops had chosen a wide-angle lens so got a lovely shot of the wreck. I'd chosen macro, & found this spider crab sporting rather dashing head gear, hiding in the kelp.
