Bump chasers

1. We leave work on our holidays wading through rain and grey and bad, bad traffic into the green of the Galloway hills. By seven o'clock we are well on our way and have left the city behind.

2. This is a journey full of laughs and music. I love this. I love going on holiday, the excitement and the build up and the getting there. Such good fun.

3. We are staying in Kirkcudbright which is where we might want to live some day. We are testing it out with a very cute garden studio, off the High Street, through an arch and at the end of a cobbled lane. This is a photo of where we are staying although you can't see the conservatory and private garden. The little decanter on the table is filled with our 'welcome sherry' which is the nicest of touches.

4. We go off to explore and find ourselves at the Selkirk Arms for an excellent meal and a soon to become legendary pudding called a Selkirk Mess - a joyous mixture of sweet treats.

5. The evening ends in the Masonic Arms with a whiskey before strolling to our home for the weekend and the start of our spring fling.
