Bulls Head Hay Bluff

I've been trying to get to this pub in the middle of nowhere (20 min drive from Hay) for over 20 years and today I finally made it.
It's situated near to Hay Bluff which was used for the moors scenes in 'American Werewolf in London' and the pub where a one eyed Rick Mayall turns around and says 'You're not from round here' is obviously based on the Bulls Head.
Inside it looks as though nothing has changed in over a 100 years.
The textures on the walls, old farm house tables and chairs, and flag stoned floor with an eclectic collection of things (empty flea powder tin, old jugs and rusty horeshoe) come together in a truly beautiful world of interiors way.
It's strange how the coolest looking bars to be found these days have had very little done to them and just been allowed to age gracefully.
