Our solid wood, thirty year old, built in wardrobe is gone, taken onto the pavement in bit and pieces and completely gone from there, probably warming up somebody's living room.

Under the wardrobe we found 4 layers of carpets and this ancient lino. The house was built in 1910 and the floor looked clean and fresh under all layers. So the lino might be 100 years old. I was told that in those days bare floorboards were a sign of poverty, so everybody tried to cover them with either carpets or linos. Or even paint black. I am quite happy the first owners of my house could afford a bit of rosy floor covering.
