Thursday 2 June 2011: Benchmark 32
Today I drove the 250 mile journey home. It was a glorious late afternoon as I drove through the Lake District and I thought how wonderful it would be to be out there walking.
My thoughts drifted and I began to think about what the ingredients are for a great walk. Here is the list that I came up with:
- Good company
- Comfortable boots
- Dry clear day
- Beautiful natural scenery
- Hill to climb
- Flowing fresh water, a river or a burn
- Good sighting of a bird species or a wild mammal
- Ruined building
- Tunnock's Caramel Wafer
What would be on your list?
